Stage Audio Works has supplied Durban-based technical provider GudSound with a d&b audiotechnik V-Series line array system, strengthening its capacity for high-performance live sound across South Africa.

“For us at GudSound, investing in a d&b audiotechnik sound system through Stage Audio Works is about much more than just adding new equipment to our inventory,” says Leepy Shabangu, CEO at GudSound. “It represents the next step in our journey as a company and our commitment to raising the standard of production we deliver to our clients.”

The deployment includes 20 V8 and four V12 line array elements, 16 B22 subwoofers, and eight D40 amplifiers. The system is delivered with Stage Plus cabling, flight cases, and integrated power distribution, enabling efficient transport, fast deployment, and consistent system integrity in demanding environments.

This marks GudSound’s first investment in d&b, adding a rider-friendly, scalable platform to its inventory. The V-Series configuration supports precise coverage control, high SPL capability, and extended low-frequency performance, making it suitable for both large-format outdoor events and controlled indoor productions.

The V8/V12 combination allows for flexible array design for varying audience geometries, while D40 amplification provides system processing, load monitoring, and efficiency at scale. The result is predictable performance across complex deployments and tighter alignment with international touring specifications.

The system is already positioned for use across major Durban events, including Durban July, alongside music and lifestyle productions such as Bread4Soul Sessions, Saso’s House, and Pianocast.

According to GudSound, the investment is driven by increasing demand for globally specified systems on technical riders, as well as the need for higher consistency and control across diverse event formats.

With the V-Series now in rotation, GudSound expands its ability to deliver rider-compliant, high-output systems with repeatable results across touring and local productions.
