When legendary tenor Andrea Bocelli took the stage at Abu Dhabi’s Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental to usher in the New Year, the audience was treated to a night of world class music. But beyond the breathtaking vocals, the event was elevated by a stunning visual experience – one made possible by the expertise of INFiLED’s trusted partner, SLS Production and their use of LED technology from the GX Series.

The Emirates Palace, with its opulent architecture and luxurious ambiance, presented a unique challenge. The event’s organisers, Theory Eleven Entertainment, required a stage design that would not only complement the grandeur of the venue, but also create an engaging and elegant atmosphere for the audience and minimise impact to guests.

For SLS Production, this project was more than just another event – it was an opportunity to create something extraordinary. With years of experience in the region crafting immersive visual environments, their team understood the delicate balance required to enhance the performance without overshadowing its artistry.

“The client’s vision was to create an elegant and immersive stage design that elevated the audience’s experience,” explained Velmurugan Eakambaram, Senior Video Engineer from SLS Production who led the team in this project,” They required high-resolution LED screens that delivered crystal-clear visuals with seamless content playback throughout the event.”

SLS is our long-time partner in the rental sector in the region. We have collaborated on many projects, such as Jason Derulo’s concert at Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai in 2024. The LED video walls from the GXmk2 Series have proven their excellence in delivering striking visual quality.

Right from the beginning, our teams were confident that the GXmk2 was the best solution for this special project. They worked together on every detail, and the final setup featured:
A 62m by 9m LED video wall made up of INFiLED GXmk2 4.63 LED panels, spanning 558 square meters, with an impressive 13392 by 1944 pixel resolution

Paired with NovaStar H9 and Analog Way Aquilon RS4 processors, along with a brand new Dataton Watchout Version 7 to enhance the visual quality, our LED wall ensured flawless content playback, smooth transitions, and a truly immersive experience for the audience.

What the audience saw was perfection, but behind the scenes, the team faced significant logistical and technical challenges that tested their expertise. Seamlessly integrating the LED video wall required custom rigging and structural adjustments to ensure a flawless visual experience.

The challenge of maintaining a seamless experience for visitors while executing a complex installation required precise coordination, quiet efficiency, and meticulous attention.

“Due to the location of the site, the kit had to be offloaded some 500m away, which added an extra element of difficulty to load-in,” revealed SLS Productions’ Project Manager, Anuj Naik.” Additionally, with the hotel remaining in operation through the build, it was essential to keep disruption to guests to a minimum.”

With tight time constraints and operational hurdles to overcome, the team worked tirelessly over three consecutive nights, carefully assembling the massive LED video wall while ensuring minimal disruption to hotel guests.

At the heart of this project was SLS Production’s dedication to delivering exceptional event experiences, a commitment that aligns perfectly with our own values at INFiLED. Their ability to seamlessly integrate advanced visual technology into such prestigious venue is a testament to their years of expertise and the strong industry relationships they’ve cultivated, including our long-standing collaboration.

“When working on a high-profile concert like this, every detail matters,” noted Velmurugan Eakambaram.” INFiLED was selected due to its exceptional visual performance, reliability, and ability to deliver high-quality imagery suitable for the performance. The technology had to meet the highest standards, and we worked closely with our partners to ensure that every aspect was flawless.

At INFiLED, we take pride in working hand-in-hand with our partners to deliver the best visual solutions. Having an established relationship with a reliable partner like SLS Production was essential when failure was not an option in this dynamic and full of challenges sector.

The New Year’s Eve concert at Emirates Palace was more than just a musical event, for us at lNFiLED, it was a fusion of artistry and technical brilliance and stands as a testament to what can be achieved when technical expertise meets premium equipment, all driven by a strong partnership.

The overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees, and Bocelli’s production team further underscores the success of our close collaboration, demonstrating what can be achieved through dedication, expertise, and strong partnerships like the one we share with SLS Production.
