Neumann has launched two new microphone capsules: KK 104 A and KK 105 A.
Succeeding the company’s KK 204 and KK 205 capsule heads, the new products combine Neumann’s renowned condenser technology with an updated design, improved suppression of handling noise, and compatibility with the latest Sennheiser wireless platforms, including Spectera, EW-D, EW-DX, and Digital 6000/9000 handheld transmitters.
The KK 104 A and KK 105 A use the same capsule technology as Neumann’s KMS series wired stage microphones.
Compared with dynamic microphones, the KK 104 A and KK 105 are said to provide a smoother frequency response, superior transient response, and an airy high-frequency presentation. The result is a more immediate, emotional, and intelligible vocal sound.
Optimised for close miking, both capsule heads incorporate a fixed low cut filter to compensate for the proximity effect. A hardened steel grille with an integrated pop screen protects the capsule from moisture while effectively controlling plosives and sibilance.
